Three Questions to Ask Yourself Before a Neck Lift in Arlington Heights

Published by DR. Bradley Ashpole

You may not think much of your neck until it begins to show signs of age, prompting feelings of self-consciousness. For some, a neck lift in Arlington Heights is the only option to help improve the saggy, droopy appearance of loose skin on the neck.

If you are considering the procedure, ask yourself these three questions to make sure you get the most out of your procedure.

How Old am I?

First and foremost, consider your age. This may seem like an odd thought, but the specific treatment options that are utilized should be reflective of your age. A patient in their 30s shouldn’t receive the same treatment approach as a patient in their 50s.

Generally speaking, the older the patient is, the more aggressive the treatment needs to be in order to improve the appearance of the neck.

What Layers of the Neck Are Impacted?

There are three layers of the neck: your skin, your fat and your muscle. Detemining what layer is being impacted the most can help you have a better understanding of what needs to be tweaked.

Treatment options include lasers, liposuction, or even Botox to get desired results. The specific approach that we take is dependent on what part of your neck is impacted the most.

As a general rule of thumb, if at least two of our three layers are showing signs of age, you will likely want to opt for a surgical neck lift to yield the best results.

Is My Doctor Qualified?

Once you have decided that you want to follow through with a neck lift in Arlington Heights, you may wonder whether your doctor is qualified. At Ashpole Plastic Surgery, Dr. Bradley Ashpole is a Board-Certified plastic surgeon who is highly qualified to perform your neck lift.
