My staff and I also perform minimally invasive and non-surgical cosmetic procedures for radiant, younger looking skin, including Botox®, daxxify, injectable fillers (Juvederm, Restylane), and chemical peels.
What happens during a cosmetic consultation?
During our initial meeting I am there to listen to and educate my patients. Each person has individual needs and it is important to make sure that every patient is well-informed and has realistic expectations. I spend a great deal of time with each patient so that everyone is comfortable and confident with their choices.
What is your medical training and background?
After completing extensive plastic and reconstructive surgical training in St. Louis, Chicago and New York City, I returned home to Chicago. I graduated as the Valedictorian of my high school class and went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Illinois Wesleyan University. Then, I graduated with honors from the St. Louis University School of Medicine. During my medical training in Chicago, I completed my internship and residency training in General Surgery at Rush University Medical Center, followed by a prestigious Hand Surgery Fellowship. I completed my Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training in New York City at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center, one of the oldest and most acclaimed programs in the country. Included in my training were cosmetic rotations at New York City’s prestigious Manhattan Eye and Ear Infirmary. I am very proud of my recent induction into the Leo M. Davidoff Society in recognition of my outstanding achievements in teaching. I continue to teach and educate my patients to ensure that all patients are fully informed and any questions or concerns are addressed prior to surgery.
Is Board Certification important when choosing your Plastic Surgeon?
Board certification is of utmost importance and a key criteria when choosing your plastic surgeon. There are many “cosmetic” doctors in the community, however, the American Board of Plastic Surgery maintains the highest standards for the education, examination, certification, and maintenance of certification of plastic surgeons in the United States. I am currently Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
